The Arctic circle is one of the five major parallels marked on the map of the world.The Arctic circle is 66°33'44" (66,5622°) to the North of the equator. The area North of the Arctic circle is called the Arctic, in Russia - Polar region, to the South from Arctic circle is the Northern temperate zone.
