The Cape is a big ledge, situated on a narrow peninsula and occupying a low steep hill. The ledge is red sandstones interspersed with amethyst. A unique amethyst deposit refers to stockwork type. The vein of amethyst outcrop on visible area of 20 meters by 5 meters and a capacity of 15-20 centimeters. Feldspar, muscovite, quartz, fluorite, calcite and barite are found there also. The Cape is the most known amethyst deposit in Russia. The Pomors crafted there since the 6-7 centuries. Vegetation presents typical seaside and rock types. The marine climate is characterized by average temperature of the warmest month is 13.8 °C, the coldest — -11,4 °C. Аtmospheric precipitation are equal about 408 mm. Protected by the state! No activities on the territory is conducted without permition of Authorized Environmental Bodies and Tersky region administration.
